Century 2465 Body – photo gallery

The Century 2465 integrated towing & recovery unit has been designed to be an ideal match for the popular low-pro medium duty chassis. The 2465 is equipped with twin 12,000 lb planetary winches and a recovery boom rated at 12 tons retracted and 5 tons extended.

The Century 2465 is available in a 84” or 108” CA aluminum modular body that includes spacious tool compartments with a front tunnel box. The fabricated underlift is rated at 7,000 lb lift capacity at its fully extended reach using lifting forks. This makes it ideal for towing a wide variety of light and medium duty trucks, as well as automobiles.

Fuel tanks must be under the cab. Fuel tanks can extend up to 6 inches behind the cab only in combination with a frame-mounted pylon. Fuel fill must not behind the cab. The preferred location for the battery box is under the passenger seat or under the cab, battery boxes in other locations may require relocation.

* A minimum of 49″ between the inside of the rear tires is required.

‡ The outside frame rails of the chassis extending behind the cab must be free of fuel tanks, air tanks, exhaust stacks, etc. The LCG™ carrier is not compatible with chassis that have inboard mid-ship fuel tanks such as the Ford 550 and Dodge 5500.

This could be one of the most versatile units in your fleet.  The Century 3212 G2 is designed with the capability of towing a wide range of vehicles, from passenger cars, vans, city tractors and motor homes. With multi-positional rear jacks, dual 15,000 lb planetary winches and a 16-ton recovery boom the 3212 G2 is more than just another tow truck.  This unit was designed to handle a wide variety of recovery jobs, including side pulls.  At last, a medium-duty towing and recovery unit with many of the same features found in Century’s heavy-duty models.

Holmes DTU (Detachable Towing Unit) – photo gallery

The Holmes DTU (Detachable Towing Unit) has been re-designed to decrease rear overhang, increase front axle weight, and offer better towability. With repositioned lift cylinders, the DTU also provides superior underlift height and further improved center of gravity and weight transfer.

The unit comes standard with a 20,000 lb planetary winch, 175’ of 9/16” wire rope and front legs that allow the unit to be easily removed in a matter of minutes so your truck can be multi-functional for both towing and pulling trailers. The DTU is designed to secure to your truck using a front lock-down bracket and your Fifth Wheel Plate. The power for the unit is provided by an optional wet line kit, with quick connect couplers, which is installed on your truck. Other popular options include a 25,000 lb planetary winch, tool boxes and lanyard controls; all of which are available from your local Holmes distributor.
