QUESTION & ANSWER
Q: My vehicle was in an accident and was towed to Reed & Hoppes Towing lot. What do I do?
A: If your vehicle was towed to Reed & Hoppes Towing lot after an accident, here are the steps you should follow:
- Check Your Insurance Coverage:
- Collision Coverage: If you have collision coverage, contact your insurance agent immediately. Inform them about the accident and the current location of your vehicle. Your agent will guide you through the claims process, which typically involves an inspection of the vehicle, an assessment of damages, and coordination for repairs or settlement.
- No Collision Coverage: If you don’t have collision coverage, you still have options. You can either proceed with the impound release process or discuss other potential solutions with your insurance agent. They may still be able to assist you with certain aspects of the situation.
- Impound Release Procedure:
- Contact Reed & Hoppes Towing to understand our impound release procedure. This usually involves providing proof of ownership, paying any towing and storage fees, and possibly arranging for the vehicle to be transported to a repair shop or another location.
- Discuss with an Autobody Shop:
- If you have a preferred autobody shop, contact them to see if they can assist you in the process. Some autobody shops might help facilitate the release of your vehicle from the towing lot and can start the repair process immediately.
- Gather Necessary Documents:
- Ensure you have all necessary documents such as your driver’s license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance when dealing with both the towing company and your insurance agent.
By following these steps, you can efficiently manage the situation and get your vehicle back on the road as soon as possible.
